Think you know “You’re Going to Lose That Girl”?
This Help! track wasn’t just catchy—it was cutting edge.
🎙️ John leads the vocals, but listen to those harmonies—Paul and George’s backing vocals were double-tracked to give them that lush, full sound.
They nailed the rhythm track in just two takes at EMI Studios on February 19, 1965. Then added bongos and piano overdubs the next day.
In the movie Help!, Ringo’s drum platform is literally cut away under him—yes, with a saw—adding classic Beatles-style chaos.
Fun fact: The song’s working title was “You’re Gonna Lose That Girl”, but it was polished up just in time for release.
Though never released as a single, this deep cut is a fan favorite—and a hidden gem of Beatles harmony!
Got this far? You’re not losing that Beatlemania anytime soon!
