How To Play “Money (That’s What I Want)”

The Beatles recorded “Money” in seven takes on July 18, 1963, with their usual lineup. A series of piano overdubs was later added by producer George Martin. The song was released in November 1963 as the final track on their second United Kingdom album, With the Beatles.

According to George Harrison, the group discovered Strong’s version in Brian Epstein’s NEMS record store (though not a hit in the UK, it had been issued on London Records in 1960). They had previously performed it during their audition at Decca Records on January 1, 1962, with Pete Best still on drums at the time. They also recorded it six times for BBC radio. A live version, taped at a concert date in Stockholm, Sweden in October 1963, was included on Anthology 1.

How To Play “Don’t Bother Me”

Don’t Bother Me

“Don’t Bother Me” is the first song written by George Harrison to appear on an album by English rock group the Beatles. The upbeat rock and roll song originally appeared on the group’s With the Beatles album in the United Kingdom, released in 1963, and on their Meet the Beatles! album in the United States, released in 1964.

Harrison wrote the song while ill in bed at a hotel room in Bournemouth, England, where the Beatles were playing some shows during the summer of 1963. He considered it an exercise in whether he could write a song, later saying, “at least it showed me that all I needed to do was keep on writing, and then maybe eventually I would write something good.”

How To Play “It Wont Be Long”

“It Won’t Be Long” is the opening track on With the Beatles, the Beatles’ second UK album, and was the first original song recorded for it. This particular song is mainly composed by John Lennon and credited as Lennon-McCartney with Paul McCartney assisting with the lyrics and arrangement.

Just like “She Loves You”, “It Wont Be Long” also has the melodramatic ending and their early signature style of call-and-response yeah-yeahs and scaling guitar riffs.
