How To Play “Don’t Bother Me”

Don’t Bother Me

“Don’t Bother Me” is the first song written by George Harrison to appear on an album by English rock group the Beatles. The upbeat rock and roll song originally appeared on the group’s With the Beatles album in the United Kingdom, released in 1963, and on their Meet the Beatles! album in the United States, released in 1964.

Harrison wrote the song while ill in bed at a hotel room in Bournemouth, England, where the Beatles were playing some shows during the summer of 1963. He considered it an exercise in whether he could write a song, later saying, “at least it showed me that all I needed to do was keep on writing, and then maybe eventually I would write something good.”

“It Won’t Be Long” is the opening track on With the Beatles, the Beatles’ second UK album, and was the first original song recorded for it. This particular song is mainly composed by John Lennon and credited as Lennon-McCartney with Paul McCartney assisting with the lyrics and arrangement.

Just like “She Loves You”, “It Wont Be Long” also has the melodramatic ending and their early signature style of call-and-response yeah-yeahs and scaling guitar riffs.

How To Play “I Want To Hold Your Hand”

“I Want to Hold Your Hand” is written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and recorded in October 1963, This song is the first Beatles record to be made using four-track equipment.

“I Want To Hold Your Hand” is the song that breaks their way in the United States of America. In 1963, the Beatles became stars in England, but couldn’t break through in the US. They couldn’t get a major label to distribute their singles in America, so songs like “Love Me Do” and “She Loves You” were issued on small labels and flopped, even though they were hits in England.
